Reproducing So Fast

I AM growing increasingly aware of the dietary needs of the snails/shells. They are multiplying fast and now they finish their daily meals within hours, not days.

I still have lots of food for them in store, but if they keep reproducing they will be “over capacity” in this tank. Then I’ll need to think about introducing another, bigger tank.

Those are not expensive though…

Good Riddance, Heatwave

THE weather here has cooled down considerably, so I am back to drinking hot coffee and researching for upcoming articles.

This coming week I’ll stay indoors more; I expect writing capacity will hence increase.

Community Shield in 23 Hours

IT is less than 24 hours away: Community Shield.

Rianne said the new coach looked eerily similar to Pep this morning in BBC. Will he too hold up a title/brass?

We have a drink in the fringe just in case.

Dreams Come True

Yesterday: GNU/Linux Reaches 10% “Market Share” in statCounter

It’s up some more today:

Desktop Operating System Market Share Worldwide

Supported or corroborated by several other surveys of Web traffic, statCounter shows us that 10% might be exceeded some time soon (maybe by month’s end) for GNU/Linux, the foremost carrier of Software Freedom. Combined with ChromeOS, it’s already past and beyond 11%.

Our First Week of Domestic Vacation

Fountains Abbey Travel Poster

Our first week of summer staycation has been very good. Vacations that involve staying in Greater Manchester still leave a very large radius for exploration and we did different things every day. Rianne has rated it 9 our of 10. After today “week 2″ starts, then we have one more week and it’s Bank Holiday. We can leave Town for a bit. Back to normal after that.

There are still some house chores to complete, some of them physical, but with 2+ week left there’s no pressure, no hurry.

In September we’ll take publication up a notch. Back to normal routines.

Two More Days

Tux Machines Turns 20

IN two days from now Manchester City can lift another “trophy” (shield), the first one for the new coach, Enzo, as well as for some new players in the club.

We’ve already put some drinks in the fringe in case of celebrations.

The above photo was taken across the road from the stadium, at Lazy Panda.

Less Shopping Centres, More Parks

WOO HOO

I‘ve decided that, weather factors taken into account, it would be better to go feed the birds again, not visit Trafford Centre like we originally planned. Or go around Town this coming Sunday.

The birds at the park look very hungry, desperate for food. We want to prioritise them.

Water shortages are also becoming a matter of urgency across Europe. This is climate change in action.
