Double standards

oday I read that some channel or channels in IRC got banned based on dubious pretexts. I learned this about an hour after publishing this article about trackers of IRC.

If IRC gets divided along some sort of pseudo- or quasi-political lines, then it’s hard not to be suspicious of a corporate role.

See, corporations that openly and proudly support fascism and war crimes want us to believe that the real issue is some communities that aren’t left-leaning.

HE tickets for a football match (even women’s) aren’t cheap and we didn’t watch the match today, we just decided to hang around before the game began (4:30PM). As of now, there’s a dramatic turnaround after Arsenal started strongly and was ahead.

Update: Full time, final score 4-2. Well done, City.

he program I wrote 4 years ago helps track changes in RSS feeds, so today I noticed the following recent alternations:

Kick-off in 5 minutes

oday we headed off to the stadium, where we saw all the players coming out from the bus. There was then a live band playing, mostly brass, with about 7 or 8 pieces including drums. We came back home just before kick-off and before many of the fans filled up the streets.

This is a tense time for Manchester City because of the case and any rivalry between Arsenal and the blues (in men’s) sort of resonates across leagues.

We saw/heard no loud chants or any signs of conflict. Security was abundant, they call it “safety”

he common belief is that ugly people are attracted to money as they perceive that as a way to compensate for their ugliness (inside and/or outside) or past rejections (at a younger age). Beautiful people may be attracted to ugly people if they have money; but those ugly people are still ugly.

“Beautiful” as a term refers to some subjective condition, but based on social norms people can distinguish.

The bottom line is, it’s hardly surprising that many of the world’s richest people are ugly inside and ugly outside; the reason for their hoarding isn’t the need to do butchering procedures (plastic [sic] surgery [sic]) but a desire for recognition based on financial status, not goodwill or smart mind or good looks.

This has been a valid criticism for centuries already.

New addition to the kitchen

oday the “sick bird” did not look so sick and the babies seem to have almost matured fully, which means they’re “winter-ready”. I’ve managed to find nigo for Rianne today. It’ll come in handy. The kitchen is gradually adding all sorts of items typically found only in the far east. That makes the food better.

This afternoon we’ll visit the birds at the park again. Tomorrow we go to town to sort out some things, then take it easy and focus on news.

It’s still surprisingly warm (for this season) this afternoon. Tomorrow it’s expected to be above 20 degrees.

As planned

oday I saw this new (and timely) screenshot of something I had posted to Twitter (and JoinDiaspora, not Mastodon) 5 years ago. The screenshot was posted yesterday in Twitter (now ‘X’) and this relates to an issue we plan to bring to the Court of Appeal next year. A judge did not object to the matter being discussed just before Christmas of this year. Likewise, he did not award costs to anybody.

The plan to address the Court of Appeal remains relevant and practicable.
