A pair of young ones
oday the baby birds are sleeping a lot. They hang around and fall asleep (eyes shut) in numerous places, waiting for the next meal.
The other night we caught them sleeping and staying overnight at the windows. We don’t mind. They need safety and this place is quite safe for them (unlike construction sites).
The baby birds (two of them) don’t have names yet. If they stick around long enough, they probably will need names (it makes communications about them easier).

We have a problem

eptember ends tomorrow and today it’s mild. It’ll be 20 or 21 degrees at night (tomorrow) and 23 degrees today (daytime).
This is not how it used to be. September can still be warm, but we’re now at the end of September.
The media treats climate change like it’s old news or some boring topic.

The party of racists
his week Reform UK may have difficult questions to answer because a techie in the UK (like us) identified financial problems in Reform UK, which is basically a company disguised as a political party. If persistence in the face of antagonism pays off, maybe we’ll soon see headlines about Reform UK trying to argue why it should continue to exist at all.
Another rebrand (and shell) overdue?

A burden on the Web, a problem for the climate also
he sites are very busy today, but many requestors are bots and teammates looked at some logs earlier today. The key point made, in conclusion, is that it’s too hard to accurately identify culprits, hence it’s best to make pages cheap to deliver and simply transmit to anyone.
The WWW (Web) is such an utter mess. We’ll try to raise the subject in the Court of Appeal next year.

But birds don’t care
oday the birds started drinking from the old fish tank (several of them did this). It’s old, and it’s also rather odd, as it’s meant to be there not to be used for animals but rather to erode and let green buildups degrade.
Recently more birds landed here, seeing that we feed young ones as they need to ‘beef up’ ahead of winter. Some of them are still small, visibly underdeveloped, and they don’t know how to fly too well. We still have some time left to prepare them for cold days (especially nights).

Bad for the planet
here are just 30 hours left before this month’s last day and the latest weather forecast predicts temperatures over 20 for October.
This latest year has been unseasonably warm in summer and there’s no reason to suspect that will stop given the growing pollution levels and unwillingness to curb emissions.
People who live in already-hot countries will suffer more, but extreme colds are another phenomenon.
I am not seeing much press coverage about climate change anymore.

This has become more mainstream
ODAY in BBC there’s this article about preparing for emergency in case of war or weather calamity. Everybody knows (common sense) that when our government advises us all to stockpile food it mostly has Russia (or Putin) in mind. Since we are in NATO, if Russia was to invade Denmark or Finland or Poland tomorrow, we’d send British planes and troops there to help. At that stage, we’re participants in a war against Russia and then striking out of service or electric grids can be seen as “fair play” (at wartime).
BBC News is trying to be instructive without becoming alarmist.
